I am involved with the Philadelphia Outward Bound School. Outward Bound is the world’s oldest and largest adventure based education program. For the past four years, I have helped with the School’s signature fundraising event – a 31 story rappel down an office building in Philadelphia.
The Outward Bound School is committed to expanding the lives of its students through challenge and discovery. Many Outward Bound students are from urban environments and would not otherwise have access to outdoor activities. Through high ropes courses and other group activities, the School’s instructors emphasize team building in a supportive and cooperative environment.
The Philadelphia chapter provides opportunities to children in the Greater Philadelphia area. Through my own involvement, I have built lasting relationships with many fine people (instructors, administrators, donors and others) who keep the Outward Bound School going and have had the pleasure of witnessing the positive effects on the students who participate.
