McCausland keen + Buckman is proud to announce that its client, HEADstrong Foundation has succeeded in a long court battle initiated by neighbors seeking to prevent it from operating Nick's House in Swarthmore, Delaware County.  Nick's House provides a place for guests to live rent-free while they seek cancer treatment at area health care facilities. HEADstrong prevailed in the trial court in August of 2017, and the neighbors subsequently appealed to the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court.  The Commonwealth Court again ruled in favor of HEADstrong on August 11, 2020.  The neighbors recently decided not to further appeal to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

Matthew N. McClure, Esq. and his team at Ballard Spahr acted as pro bono lead counsel for HEADstrong in the case.  He was assisted by a pro bono team of attorneys with McCausland Keen + Buckman led by Christine A. Reuther, Esq. and Benjamin R. Picker, Esq.  McCausland Keen + Buckman real estate attorney Stephan K. Pahides, Esq. is a member of HEADstrong's Board of Directors.
